Degree Requirements and Rules The students studying in this Ph.D program are required:
to take a minimum of 7 courses with a minimum of 21 local credits
to pass the qualifying examination,
to prepare and defend a doctoral dissertation
to succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least CB/S
to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50/4.00 with a minimum of 240 ECTS credits.

Program Outcomes

1-The student integrates the knowledge which is at a level of expertness attained in the fields of German Language, Literature and Culture, and he analyses this knowledge and produces original one.
2-The student applies research methods and techniques which are developed in the field of German Language, Literature and Culture at a level of theory and practice.
3-The student endorses the current developments and the projects carried out in the field of German Language, Literature and Culture by promoting quantitative and qualitative data to the groups in and out of the field by means of communication media.
4-The student analyses the problems, encountered in the field of German Language, Literature and Culture, by using the most appropriate methods and techniques.
5-The student makes use of the information gained at a level of expertness in the field of German Language, Literature and Culture for the sake of society, and carries out his studies independently.
6-The student follows the current developments related to the field of German Language, Literature and Culture, supports the scientific activities carried out, and informs concerned people in the field with these issues.
7-The student knows interdisciplinary dimension of the studies which are done on French Literature and Culture, and takes the advantage of the data related to the social and human sciences.
8-The student attains researcher formation in linguistics and literacy
9-The student reads about different works and cultures, and then creates efficient readers who follow.
10-To train specialists able to prepare and present texts with the aim of informing, explaining, theorising and criticizing in the field of Philology
11-To form specialists who would successfully answer to the opportunities of employment in all education establishments from primary and secondary to higher education institutions, as well as in governmental bodies, institutes of scientific research, cultural organizations, publishing houses, and other institutions.
12-The student executes instruction of language and literature at a high level.
