| Recognition of Prior Learning | The process of recognition of prior education in Turkish Higher Education Councils is in its infancy. For this reason, the recognition of prior education has not been fully initiated in all programs of Namık Kemal University. However, an exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic year for the compulsory foreign language course in the curriculum of the departments. Students who have completed the learning process from these courses on their own or who think that they have achieved the learning outcomes in these courses in different ways have the right to take these exams. Students who are successful in the exam are exempt from the relevant course in the curriculum. |
| Degree Requirements and Rules |
The students studying in this undergraduate program are required to have a Cumulative Grade Points Average (Cum.GPA) of not less than 2.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses with at least a letter grade of DD/S in the program in order to graduate. The minimum number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 240. It is also mandatory for the students to complete their compulsory internship in a specified duration and quality. |

| Occupational Profiles of Graduates | Graduates of the Department of Economics can be employed in positions such as expertise, inspector and auditor in Public and Private Banks, Central Bank, Prime Ministry and its affiliates, SPO, Undersecretariat of Treasury, Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, Capital Markets Board, Supreme Boards, Court of Accounts, Ministries, Audit Firms. In addition, various research institutions, domestic and international companies are also institutions where graduates of the department are employed. In addition to these, students who complete the economics program can continue their master's and doctorate studies in economics and some other social sciences, and can also pursue an academic career and take charge in higher education institutions. |

| Exams, Assessment and Grading | At least one midterm exam is applied each semester. At the end of each semester, the student has to take the final exam. Criteria (such as midterm exams, projects, assignments and finals) and their impact rates on the final grade are clearly stated in the course content distributed at the beginning of the semester and/or published on the website. According to the student regulations and academic calendar, final exams are held on the dates, places and times determined and announced by the university. The final grade of the student is given by the course supervisor according to the evaluation results such as midterm exam, project, homework and final exam.
The passing grade at Namık Kemal University is 60 out of 100. However, the final or make-up exam result must be at least 50. Exams are evaluated out of a full score of 100. Semester/year-end grade of a course; It is the sum of 30% of the arithmetic average of the midterm or midterm exams and 70% of the grade taken in the semester/end exam or make-up exam. However, the semester/end grade of a course; Between 30% and 50% of the arithmetic average of the midterm or midterm exams, between 70% and 50% of the grade received in the semester/year-end or make-up exam, provided that the decision is taken by the relevant faculty/school board and announced at the beginning of the semester It can also be calculated so that the sum of the ratios can vary and the ratios are 100%. As a result of the calculation, the first number after the decimal point is increased to a lower integer if it is less than five, and to an upper integer if it is five or greater. The end-of-term-make-up grade is submitted to the Registrar's Office together with the evaluation criteria by the course supervisor. End of term and make-up grades are published and announced in the student information system.

In order to be considered successful in a course, the passing grade must be at least CC. However, after the make-up exam, students whose average of the courses enrolled in the current semester are 2.5 or more are considered successful with a DD success grade, and the success grade is recorded as DB with a coefficient of 1.50. In order to be considered successful with a DD grade from the relevant courses; it is compulsory to take the make-up exam for the relevant courses; The requirement of getting at least 50 points out of 100, which is required as a prerequisite for success in the end-of-term exams, is not required in these courses. In the courses where homework and practices gain importance; The extent to which these studies will affect the midterm exam grade, how the semester or yearly success grade will be determined in laboratory and project courses, and the rate of impact on the success grade will be determined and announced by the relevant committee. The results of the single course and additional exams are considered and evaluated as a success grade.
In the transcript, the following letter grades are also used:
1) DZ (non-attendance) grade; It is given for credit courses for which the course registration is made but the attendance requirement cannot be fulfilled, and it is considered as FF grade and added to the average.
2) BL (successful) grade; It is given to students who do not participate in the average and are successful in non-credit courses.
3) BZ (fail) grade; It is given to students who do not participate in the average and fail or absent from non-credit courses.
4) MF (exempt) grade; It is given to students who are successful as a result of the proficiency and exemption exams. It does not participate in the averages.
5) TR (transfer) note; It is given to students who come from outside the university by transfer or re-registered to the University with the ÖSYM exam for the courses they have taken before and whose equivalence is accepted. It does not participate in the averages.
Students who get FF, FD, DD, DZ and BZ grades in a course or who do not take the course in the regular semester must take this course again in the first semester it is offered. If these courses are elective courses, students can take another elective course instead.
Students can repeat the courses they are successful with DB, CC, CB, BB, BA grades to raise their grades. Regardless of the previous grade in the repeated course, the final grade is valid. The total number of credits that students who repeat a course can take in a semester should not exceed the upper limit specified in Article 15 of this Regulation, excluding common compulsory courses.
Students can object to the exam results in terms of material errors within one week from the announcement date. The appeal is made to the dean's office or directorate. The Dean or the Director has the exam documents examined by the head of the relevant department or department, with the instructor who made the exam. However, if there is a material error, correction can be made. When necessary, the Dean or the Director, with the decision of the Administrative Board, establishes a commission of at least three people from the relevant department, provided that one of them is the instructor who teaches the course, and has the exam documents examined. The decision of the commission is decided upon by the relevant board of directors. In the event that the instructor realizes that any material error has been made as a result of the announced exam, the instructor has to make the correction request and the reasoned application to the relevant dean's office or directorate within fifteen days from the announcement date. The application is decided by the relevant board of directors.
The success of the students is determined by calculating the semester grade point average (GPA) of the courses they have taken in the semester they have completed and the general grade point average (GPA) of all the courses they have taken. In order to find the grade point average of any semester, the total credit score calculated by multiplying the coefficients of the grades received by the student from all courses in that semester, by the credit of the course, is divided by the sum of the credit value of the courses taken. Grade point average is calculated by taking into account all the courses that the student has taken since his/her entry to the University and are valid in the department he/she is registered to. In results, zero (0) if the third number after the decimal point is less than five; if it is five or more, the second number is rounded to increase by one to two digits. Grades between (AA), (FF) and between are based on the overall grade point average. The last grade obtained from the repeated courses is added to the overall grade point average. All grades are passed on to the student's transcript. Courses that are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful are not taken into account in the calculation of the weighted grade point average.
