Recognition of Prior LearningAn exemption exam is administered at the beginning of each academic year for the compulsory foreign language course included in the departmental curriculum. Students who have completed the learning process in these courses on their own or who believe they have achieved the learning outcomes in these courses through alternative means are eligible to take these exams. Students who pass the exam are exempt from the relevant course in the curriculum. Furthermore, the EYS-YNG-119 TNKU Directive on the Recognition of Prior Learning (https://esas.nku.edu.tr/dosyalar/dokuman/A3A1D66A-AAD3-780B-710A-88496068D650.pdf) specifies the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of achievements acquired by students outside a higher education institution. This directive covers the principles regarding a) the recognition of knowledge, skills and competencies gained through special interest through exemption exams, b) the recognition of workplace experiences through portfolio preparation and exemption exams, c) the recognition and adaptation of certificates received from institutions/organizations that are accredited or accepted by the relevant boards of the university.
Degree Requirements and Rules The students studying in this undergraduate program are required to have a Cumulative Grade Points Average (Cum.GPA) of not less than 2.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses with at least a letter grade of DD/S in the program in order to graduate. The minimum number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 120. It is also mandatory for the students to complete their compulsory internship in a specified duration and quality.
Program ProfileGraduates of the Electrical Device Technology Program are technical professionals with the technical knowledge and skills to manage the production, installation, maintenance, fault analysis, and energy efficiency of both household and industrial electrical devices. They can work in electrical appliance manufacturing companies, technical services, maintenance and repair workshops, smart device technology development areas, and electric vehicle services.
Occupational Profiles of GraduatesThey can work in places such as electrical home appliance manufacturing companies, technical services, maintenance and repair workshops, smart device technology development areas, electric vehicle services, etc.
Access To Upper DegreeIf they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by ÖSYM, they will have the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree by enrolling in undergraduate programs that allow Vertical Transfer in the guide published by ÖSYM.
Exams, Assessment and Grading

At least one midterm exam is administered each semester. In addition to midterms, projects and assignments are assigned at the beginning of each semester, the dates of which are specified in the semester schedule. At the end of each semester, students are required to take a final exam. The criteria (such as midterm exams, projects, assignments, and final exams) and their impact on the final grade are clearly stated in the course content distributed at the beginning of the semester and/or published on the website. Final exams are administered at the dates, locations, and times determined and announced by the university, in accordance with student regulations and the academic calendar. Students' final grades are determined by the course instructor based on the results of the midterm exams, projects, assignments, and final exams.

The passing grade at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University is 60 out of 100. However, a minimum final or make-up exam score of 50 is required. Exams are evaluated out of 100. The semester/year-end grade for a course is the sum of 30% of the arithmetic average of the midterm exam(s) and 70% of the grade received on the semester/year-end exam or make-up exam. However, the semester/year-end grade for a course may also be calculated between 30% and 50% of the arithmetic average of the midterm exam(s) and 70% and 50% of the grade received on the semester/year-end or make-up exam, as specified in the course syllabus, with the condition that a decision is made by the relevant faculty/school board and announced at the beginning of the semester. This may vary between 30% and 50% of the arithmetic average of the midterm exam(s) and 70% and 50% of the grade received on the semester/year-end or make-up exam, with the sum of these ratios adding up to 100%. As a result of the calculation, if the first number after the decimal point is less than five, it is increased to the next lower integer, and if it is five or greater than five, it is increased to the next higher integer.

The final and make-up grades, along with the evaluation criteria, are submitted to the Student Affairs Office by the course instructor. Final and make-up grades are published and announced in the student information system.

Notes:

For each course taken, students are assigned the letter grades listed below as their semester grades. The letter grades, coefficients, and ratios are as follows. The grading system used to evaluate student achievement is expressed in the following grades and letters:
