At NKU, students are strongly encouraged to take part in the international programs which will be very useful for the development of their career.
One of the international programs that is offered to students studying at NKU is ERASMUS Student Mobility which is supported by European Commission. As NKU, we first received Erasmus Charter in 2007 and the first mobility was made in 2008. Following that , in 2008, NKU received ERASMUS Extended University Charter which allowed us to take part in both in ERASMUS Mobility for Placements and Teaching Staff Mobility.
In the framework of the bilateral agreements signed with different universities around Europe, NKU students are provided with the opportunity to participate in ERASMUS exchange program both for student mobility and placement and their exchange period is academically recognized. Moreover, our lecturers also encouraged to benefit from the ERASMUS Teaching Staff Mobility to gain experience related to their specialization area.
As part of Erasmus Programme, our university has 92 bilateral agreements with 73 universities from 16 countries, including Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, and Greece.
Apart from the ERASMUS program, NKU has academic cooperation protocols with distinctive universities from various countries such as; USA, France, Norway, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, and Romania. In the framework of these protocol the students may spend one or two semesters of their study in the cooperating universities which is again academically recognized by NKU.
Our University holds since 2007 a prestigious position in the international forum for higher education institutions through its full membership in European Universities Association (EUA). The University was also awarded the label of Diploma Supplement in 2011.
