Degree EarnedUpon completion of the program, a Master of Science degree in Surgical Diseases Nursing is received from the Department of Nursing.

Registration Acceptance ConditionsTo apply to a master's program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and, except for candidates who will apply to the music department, they must have received at least 55 standard points in the score type of the program they are applying for from the ALES conducted centrally by ÖSYM or they must be successful in internationally accepted exams whose equivalence is accepted by the senate instead of the ALES result and whose success base points are determined. (2) In accepting students to master's programs, the success grade is calculated by adding 10% of the undergraduate graduation weighted grade point average, 50% of the standard score obtained from (ALES) and 40% of the score obtained as a result of the interview conducted by the jury established by the institute's board of directors for each department. For a candidate to be considered successful, the success grade must be at least 65. Students are accepted according to the announced quota by ranking from highest score to lowest.
Recognition of Prior LearningSuccessful students who have completed at least one semester in another department of the relevant university or institute of technology or a postgraduate program of another higher education institution may apply for the horizontal transfer quota announced in the relevant department. Horizontal transfer is possible with the approval of the relevant department head and the decision of the institute's board of directors.

Program ProfileThe Surgical Diseases Nursing Master's Program accepted its first students in the 2013-2014 Spring Semester, and 7 students graduated as of 2018. Education and research activities in our department are provided by 1 professor, 3 associate professors, and 2 assistant professors. The language of instruction is Turkish. The program includes compulsory and elective courses related to the field of surgical diseases nursing. Compulsory and elective courses related to the field are taken in the 1st and 2nd semesters; thesis work related to the field is carried out in the 3rd and 4th semesters.
Occupational Profiles of GraduatesNurses who specialize in Surgical Nursing can work as clinical managers and nurse managers in the Ministry of Health, University and Private hospitals. They can work as academicians in the Department of Surgical Nursing in Health Sciences Faculties, Nursing Faculties, Nursing Colleges, and Nursing Departments in Health Colleges. Those who successfully complete their master's degree have priority in being appointed to a higher position or to be assigned in specific areas as lecturers in universities and other public institutions.
Access To Upper DegreeGraduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply to doctoral programs in their own field or in multi-disciplinary fields, provided that they receive a passing score from the ALES exam and have English language proficiency, and are accepted if they are successful in the interview exam.

1-They can synthesise informations which they acquired from biological, psychological, social, ethical and behavioural sciences and can use these informations for surgical patient care.
